Central Wisconsin Christian School
Over a span of years, WDS has tackled numerous projects for the Central Wisconsin Christian School in Waupun, Wisconsin. The first project was a remodel of the existing Middle & High School, transforming the library and under-utilized classrooms into state-of-the-art learning centers for laptop and iPad-friendly research. The next project was a 42,935 square foot addition to the Elementary school. The addition included a PRE-K to 5th-grade wing, a kitchen, a gymnasium, locker rooms, a common area, an art room, and a music room.
Along with these updated spaces, WDS also rerouted traffic flow into a new parking lot, while also relocating the existing soccer field. The main challenge of the build was long lead times during a summer slam project, creating a variety of obstacles to overcome to complete the project on time. The challenge was conquered through coordinated community involvement: volunteers self-performing painting, demo, carpentry, and various installations helped keep the project on schedule while also saving the school over $300,000. For each of these projects, WDS provided Pre-Construction, Design/Build, and General Contractor services.
WDS’ work on these projects earned the ABC-WI Gold Project of Distinction Award. This award highlights the quality and professionalism of merit construction projects by ABC of Wisconsin members.
